GNCCI to assist N&C Foods establish Lime Factory at Asebu

The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry and officials of N&C Foods Ltd organised a durbar for members of the Lime Growers Association at Asebu in the Central Region. Asebu is renowed for the production of lime and believed to have been the source of the major raw material for Cadbury Schweepes.

The meeting was to discuss N&C's business plan for the area and suggestions for its implementations. Mr N. Welbeck, the CEO of N&C Foods asssured the farmers that he will send down experts to assist the farmers in improving production and the siting of the factory. The Head of Trade & Investment at GNCCI, Mr Emmanuel Doni-Kwame informed the durbar that the Chamber is interested in growing industries in the districts to provide employment. The Chamber in collaboration with ECOWAS is organising a business mission to China to source investment and equipment for the Asebu Project
